On the afternoon of September 12, British Consul-General in Guangzhou Sarah Mann and her delegation visited ÍøÆسԹÏ. Li Zhihong, Vice President of ÍøÆسԹÏ, and heads of the Department of Scientific Research, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Dundee International Institute, and School of International Education, attended the meeting.
Li Zhihong expressed his gratitude to the British Consulate General in Guangzhou for the attention given to ÍøÆسԹϡ¯s educational cooperation with British universities. He briefly introduced the advantages of higher education resources in Hunan Province, and ÍøÆسԹϡ¯s history, scale, academic discipline characteristics, internationalization strategy, and educational cooperation with British universities. He said that ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï will continue to deepen the existing cooperation with British universities, strengthen talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation with more leading British universities, and continuously expand cooperation areas, so as to make new contributions to promoting Sino-British educational and cultural exchanges.
Sarah Mann expressed her gratitude for ÍøÆسԹϡ¯s warm reception and highly recognized ÍøÆسԹϡ¯s achievements in cooperation with British universities. She expressed hopes that in future cooperation, both sides will align their respective advantageous disciplines, enhance the diversity of cooperation between ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï and British universities, combine university education with industrial development needs, and further promote Sino-British friendship and cultural exchanges through educational exchanges and cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides carried out in-depth exchanges and reached a new consensus on further expanding overseas study channels for ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï students, deepening joint education between Chinese and foreign universities, enhancing research cooperation in humanities and social sciences, promoting industry-university-research cooperation and transformation of scientific research achievements.
