On the morning of Nov.17, Mr. Luis¡¤Schmidt, Chilean Ambassador to China and his delegation visited our ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï, and was received by President Tian Hongqi in Conference Room 2 of Science & Education Building, HQ. The heads of such departments as the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and School of Foreign Languages attended related activities.

Since 2007, ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï have reached the intent of exchange and cooperation with Chile in areas such as Chinese training, student-teacher sessions, scientific research cooperation, and signed a cooperation agreement with the University of the Andes.
President Tian introduced the features of our three disciplines including nonferrous metallurgy, rail traffic, and western medicine education & medical system, and reviewed the history of our friendly cooperation and exchanges with Chilean universities in recent years. She hoped that, by taking this opportunity of visit and on the original basis of cooperation and intent, the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï, Chile and Chilean universities would further establish a friendly cooperative relationship, promote bilateral cooperation in such fields as geology and mineral resources, medical treatment and education, and thus make a contribution to the sound development of China-Chile relations.
Mr. Luis¡¤Schmidt stated that Chile, as a major nation of mining and fruits, enjoys friendship with China. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishment of China-Chile diplomatic relations, Chile Embassy would support the cooperation with ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï in all fields in future endeavors. He expected that both sides could strengthen all-round cooperation and exchanges, especially in engineering, education and medicine.
After the meeting, the delegation came to the School of Foreign Languages of ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï, where it present a speech on China-Chile relation and its development prospect, and communicated with representatives of teachers and students.
