On the afternoon of December 20, 2019,Felix Aracena, President ofHouse of China, Dominican Republic, and his delegation visited ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï (ÍøÆسԹÏ). Bai Yi, Head of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, met with the guests on behalf of ÍøÆسԹÏ. The two parties held talks on the culture and education of Dominica and the exchange and cooperation with ÍøÆسԹÏ. Relevant staff from the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People's Government of Hunan Province attended the talks.
Bai Yi briefly introduced the history and scale, subject characteristics, talent cultivation and other aspects of our university. According to Bai Yi, ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï will actively implement the national diplomatic strategy, and promote cooperation with Dominican Republic in the field of higher education. It is planned to visit Dominica in 2020, and 3-5 scholarships for international students will be provided to help and support the talent cultivation in Dominica. He also said that Dominica is a beautiful island country, and he hoped this visit would lay a solid foundation for future cooperation.
Felix Aracena appreciated ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï for the warm reception. He praised ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï for distinguished features in medicine and rail traffic etc., and said that Dominica would like to cooperate with ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï in these fields. As a non-governmental China-friendly organization of Dominica, House of China is willing to provide all conveniences for the exchange and cooperation between ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï and Dominica in the field of higher education to promote friendship between the two parties.
Philippe Rossa, the Executive Secretary of House of China, has invited ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï to attend the University Presidents Forum for Latin America to be held in Panama next February.
Before this visit (December 4, 2019), the Ambassador Zhang Run of Dominican Embassy and his delegation visited our university.
