Ileka Atoki, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Democratic Republic of the Congo Meets ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï¡¯s Teacher Representatives of Confucius Institute

Ileka Atoki, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Democratic Republic of the Congo, accompanied by Pieere Andre, Director of the Congolese Diplomatic Academy, and Madeleine Bakatula Nzuzi, Foreign Director of Confucius Institute, met Chen Qiang, Chinese Director of Confucius Institute at the Congolese Diplomatic Academy and Chinese teacher representatives in his office in the morning of October 24 (local time).

Mr. Atoki gave a welcome to Chen Qiang,Chinese Director of Confucius Institute. He said, Confucius Institute is an important bridge of friendly exchange betweenDemocratic Republic of the Congo and China, and a major cooperative project between the Congolese Diplomatic Academy and the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï (ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï), and it provides high-quality Chinese learning sources for local people.

Chen Qiang, ChineseDirector of Confucius Instituteexpressed his gratitude for Mr. Atoki¡¯s signature on the invitation letter for appointment. He said that ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï began to accept young students fromDemocratic Republic of the Congo to major in medicine and engineering in 1990s and these students play important roles in local hospitals and enterprises. After being invited to co-establish the Confucius Institute with the Congolese Diplomatic Academy one year ago, ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï had actively invested many resources, overcome all kinds of difficulties at the establishment of Confucius Institute and laid a good foundation for further development of Confucius Institute. Confucius Institute has become an important platform for local people to study Chinese and understand China. ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï teachers will cooperate with colleagues in the Congolese Diplomatic Academy and, under the effort by both parties, Confucius Institute will become an important tie for cooperative exchanges in education and culture between both universities and even both countries..
